Do You Know Enough?
This week I had an appointment with my State Bishop. I had gone down to discuss some business with him concerning my church. Right there in the middle of that meeting he said something that the Holy Spirit used to speak right in my life. My State Bishop said that the Holy Spirit spoke to him and said, “The problem with my ministers is not that they think they know everything, it’s they think they know enough!” I could not help but sit there and cry. I thought to myself, Lord I have been guilty of just reading, praying, and seeking you just enough to get by. How many of you can say the same thing? Whether you are a minister or not, you are called to be a witness for Jesus. This applies to all of us. We read the Holy Word of God just enough to get by. We pray just enough to get by. What that really means is, we read his Holy Word when we find time. We go to him in prayer only when there is trouble. God help us that we can be a people who are so in love with Jesus, that we can’t wait to learn more about Him, seek His face, and be in His presence. The reality of all of this is, we may know enough just to get by, When we are called to help others make it! Why don’t you join me today and make time for God’s word? Make time to spend in prayer? Make time to fall in love with Jesus? When we do this, we will grow so much more in His grace and help others to do the same. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Let’s grow more, know more, be more.
